It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Who took the cookie from the cookie jar?

Climate skeptics, aka, climate realists have known for a long time that where there is heat in the world you will find cold somewhere else in the world.

Ying and yang. To and fro. Up and down.

The Earth in Balance and all that.

Realists have been having great fun with global warming alarmists for years as they try to educate the warmists with humor and logic in an attempt to point out the obvious fact that the troposphere that humans inhabit is constantly full of BOTH heat AND cold. Not a day goes by that temperatures don't vary from one time to another, from one place to another. We live in a dynamic atmosphere that is constantly changing.

With a little help from websites like Ice Age Now and Where's My Global Warming Dude? that report on the current cold areas of the earth, a balanced viewpoint is presented to the world. We are reminded that not only are there warm areas but there are regions of the planet that are experiencing cooler times.

The reality is that there are always warms areas on the Earth and cold regions. Even the last ICE AGE was not a global phenomenon. Somehow the Earth maintains a balance in its heat distribution.

Realists will keep pointing out the cognitive dissonance of cold to counteract the warmist confirmation bias of heat. Sooner or later they have to get it that you aren't going to get heat everywhere. The atmosphere does not work that way.

Besides, how are warmists going to explain the contrasting hot and cold areas in terms of an increasing concentration of CO2. Does CO2 rush to certain areas to trap the heat there thus leaving the vacated area to
cool off because it is now absent? Do we have any indication that CO2 congregates in the atmosphere like that? And how would CO2 'decide' to move to a particular area to trap heat? What is the mechanism? Does it hop a ride on the jet stream? This is speculative nonsense of course.

CO2 is a trace gas in the atmosphere (.039%). Is it realistic to say that such a trace gas is the thermostat controlling the world's climate? Isn't it more likely that CO2 has nothing to do with the temperature?

The warming the alarmists are trying to peddle is NOT global. It is not unprecedented, unequivocal, accelerating, anthropogenic and thus not catastrophic.

So who took the GLOBAL out of global warming?

Reality did.

The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open.
