It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Mann lives in a Model World

Penn State professor and leading climate scientist  Dr. Michael Mann says of the early summer heatwave in the US:
“There’s a context that this is occurring during an entire year of record breaking warmth in the U.S. and that this record breaking warmth is a pattern of long term warming of the entire globe.”

Except that the entire globe is not warming. The South Pole has been cooling for over 30 years. The South Pole on June 24, 2012 set an all time record low of -100.8F. Locations in the Southern Hemisphere are reporting record lows and heavy snow.

In the US while some places were having record warmth record lows were being recorded in Daytona and Orlando. The British Isles have been experiencing a wet and cold summer. There is still plenty of snow in the mountains of the western US and Canada  with ski resorts still open in July.

Kinda takes the GLOBAL out of global warming doesn't it? Some areas experience a heat wave; others shiver through a cold wave. The Earth in Balance. Mann does not know what he is talking about.

Furthermore, if Mann were to look at the temperature records for the US he would find that the 1930s set more record maximums than 2012.

The Heat Was On—Before Urbanization and Greenhouse Gases

Mann says that the ice sheets in Greenland and the Antarctic have already started to lose ice sooner than models predicted. "What that means is that is contributing to sea level rise at a rate beyond what we originally projected.  If we continue, we could be looking at two meters of sea level rise by the end of the century.” How can a 'leading climate scientist' not be up to date with the latest research in his own field. The Antarctic ice shelves are not disappearing. The Greenland ice sheet has been stable over the last two decades. So these large ice sheets are not contributing to sea level rise. They are not contributing to a sea level rise at a rate beyond what we originally projected. Two meters of sea level rise is not realistic. Recent research suggests sea level rise is decelerating. Four inches by 2100 is more realistic at current rates off rise.

Mann also says "it turns out that when the air is warmer it can hold more water vapor, so you actually get larger snowfall.  It’s consistent with what the climate change models project.”  Maybe they can hold more water vapor but are the relative humidity levels of the air increasing over time as would be expected if the CO2 climate model is correct? The models are wrong here too.

The above statements of Michael Mann do not conform the real world that he is living in. He is either delusional or incompetent or both. Perhaps he is describing another planet or the heat has gotten to him.

Mann lives in a model world where the models have been proven wrong time after time by the real world.

CO2 is not the demon he thinks it is. And yet he continues to deny the real world data. He is projecting his own denial onto others to protect his ego. This is not a Mann who can admit when he is wrong. It is unthinkable to him.

97% of Mann's statements on climate are bunk. They have reached a tipping point and are much worse than we thought.

CO2 has been exhaled during the creation of this post. No living thing was harmed. Some even liked it.
