It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Human Fricassee

"But if humans are really so stupid as to not take some drastic action by at least 2050, when total warming would be 3.0°C -- if even after that we continue to burn fossil fuels at an ever-increasing rate, well then we are clearly too stupid to deserve to continue as a species, and the Universe would best be rid of us." ~ David Appell

Well, David, I won't be alive in 2100 or even 2050 or I would bet everything I own that these predictions will be as prominent in the Human Hall of Failed Predictions as those of Harold Camping.

It is always best to extrapolate to a time when you won't be alive to be reminded of your fear mongering.

Warning! Warning! Apocalyptic prediction. Skeptical radar automatically engaged.

CO2 4400ppm. Climate: ice age. 450mya.

Humans are Nature's way of understanding itself. The Universe is curious. We are safe.

Climate feedbacks are negative.

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” Kenneth Watt, Ecologist 1970

I guess the trends changed. They do that.

PDO or CO2, David? SUN or SUV?

Martian atmosphere: 96% CO2 for how long?

Use your graph.

What should the temperature be?

What is it?
