Step jumps

Smooth increases in atmospheric CO2 concentrations since the second half of the 20th century but that is not the way that temperature has behaved. Temperature has moved in steps but CO2 has not. See the paper for another look at the temperature record from ground based stations and the implications for a causal relationship with CO2 increases.
