It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Well, well, well, explaining the 'pause'

Alarmists had suspicions all along that they were wrong. Skeptics are now being vindicated as alarmists desperately search for the missing heat.

What if climate change appears to be just mainly a multidecadal natural fluctuation? They'll kill us probably...[Via Barry Woods; Tommy Wills, Swansea University to the mailing list for tree-ring data forum ITRDB, 28 Mar 2007]

'It argues that not only could the current hiatus in the warming be due to natural causes: so also could the rapidity of the warming from the 1970s until the late 1990s.'

So much so apparently that the oceans can overwhelm any contribution from CO2.

Somehow the heat trapping gas CO2 that puts the ‘atmosphere on steroids’  was unable to keep the Pacific warm. Is this more evidence that CO2 is not the thermostat controlling our climate?

Do we owe CO2 an apology?

More well, well, well from the recent IPCC AR5 WGI. What do we find in Chapter 2 on weather extremes?  They can’t find any patterns emerging that would indicate that CO2 is making the weather worse. So much for the ‘supercharged atmosphere on steroids’ description!

And now there are ten....

Update Feb. 28, 2014: Der Spiegel On 15-Year Pause: ‘Biggest Mystery In Climate Science’:Climate models had never expected the pause: Only 3 of 114 climate simulations were able to reproduce the trend of the past years, the IPCC concludes in its latest report. The reason for the deviation between models and observations is unclear.’

And the beat goes on. Isn’t it embarrassing when the climate models of the ‘settled science’ can’t negotiate the curve that Mother Nature put in their path and they fall off the runway? Billions wasted on the crime of the century. Politicians heeded the wrong scientists. How do we prevent such descent into pseudo-science in the future? Our resources are precious. They should not be wasted chasing a phantom of the atmosphere.
