It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Irving Berlin wrote the song in 1940 and Bing Crosby sang it in 1941. Look up White Christmas in Wikipedia for the probability that certain Canadian and US cities will receive a white Christmas. Not unexpectedly they are more common in some places than others. Toronto only has a 37% chance of a receiving one while, perhaps surprisingly, Annette Island, Alaska has only a 17% chance of a white Christmas. It is interesting that even Reno Nevada has a 20% chance of a white Christmas. Go figure. Of course, these 'weird' results are all due to the addition of CO2 in the atmosphere by the human burning of fossil fuels. /sarc

It is an issue again in 2011. And hockey on the lake is affected too.

Did it happen before?

Back in 1912 Green Christmases were lamented in England as people were noting that the climate seemed to be warming up. They were right. Then it cooled again  through the mid-1970s and Cory Kleinschmidt could again play hockey on frozen lakes. Then it warmed up again - the Modern Warming.

Do we see a cycle here? Round and round we go, Up and down we go....
