Just as it was easy to see though some varieties of the apparel shop LuLuLemon’s yoga pants a recent paper by self anointed climate alarmist stars Lewandowsky and Mann reduced their stock value as serious contributors to the debate on the causes of climate change. They think that when scientists are asked to show their work(data) they are being harassed.
Shouldn’t all scientists come to the table with the attitude: here’s what we think we know. Here is the data upon which we relied. Did we miss anything? The spirit of science is to uncover how reality works - to determine truth. Openness and transparency would seem to be pre-requisite traits to the accomplishment of that goal. Asking for review by others would seem to me to be SOP among scientists.
But these guys see a conspiracy to discredit their work operating among those who disagree with their conclusions.
That is not scientific.
Besides is it not a contribution to human knowledge to find out that something isn’t true?
