It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

The Hypocrisy in CAGW

We are constantly told that the climate is changing and humans are causing it via our dependence on fossil fuels.

The UN forms the IPCC to serve as a clearinghouse for the latest research on CAGW and to provide the governments of the world with the latest solutions to be adopted such as radically reducing CO2 emissions from developed countries.

But do the leaders of the CAGW alarm behave as if there really is a scare?

Blogger Instapundit: I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who tell me it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis.

IPCC contributor economist Richard Tol remarked on the recent Doha conference, COP18, in Qatar: “Civil servants, lobbyists and academics are getting ready to fly to a warm place to convince us that warmth is bad and we should fly less”

The Chinese who are still considered a developing country according to Kyoto rules and therefore not subject to reducing their CO2 emissions advised: “industrialized nations must agree to further greenhouse gas reductions before they will consider doing so, and holding developing countries to developed-nation standards would be inequitable.” Meanwhile China and India have almost 900 coal plants on the drawing board. Does that sound like they are afraid of CO2 in the atmosphere? They are going to go ahead with their plans regardless of whether or not the rest of the world reduces their CO2 emissions.

Those who want to situate themselves as a major player in the CAGW solution game are often among the most heavily CO2 spewing people in the world. Lead By Example they don’t. Soon to be Secretary of State John Kerry is a case in point. Five luxury homes, a yacht and a private jet symbolize the Kerry’s LBE lifestyle. Their austerity and dedication to implementing simple solutions to man made climate change is on daily display for all of us to emulate.

Al Gore is another hypocrite. He is always dashing off on fossil fuelled trips around the country and to other parts of the world for speaking engagements and rallying the troops in his education seminars. Lots of great references and comments in the link. And Al has sold his Current-TV to Al-Jazeera who are backed by OIL INTERESTS. Yep, Al is really worried about putting CO2 into the air. He’s laughing all the way to the bank.

Dr Pachauri, the head of the UN’s IPCC is from India and “ India and Dr. Pachauri are happy to push global warming, on the condition that the Americans commit economic suicide while India is allowed to move forward aggressively with economic development.” Remember the coal plants mentioned above? Dr Pachauri has been undermined in the past by incorrect data in the IPCC reports.

The AOSIS keep pleading for money from the ‘green climate fund’ ostensibly to help them mitigate or adapt to the rising seas that threaten their existence. Meanwhile they continue building hotels, resorts and airports for their burgeoning tourist trade. Stupid capitalists are investing in all that infrastructure so they can watch it sink beneath the waves? Yeah, right!

Meanwhile the acknowledged current leader of the free world enjoys his Hawaiian vacations without worrying about taxpayer expense or environmental ‘damage’. And yet he called for the US to lead by example.

There are many other examples of celebrities who warn about CAGW who are not walking the talk. How about the president of the Maldives?

Happily, this leads people to catch on to the delusion that is CAGW.

Delusion: a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary.

People are learning that:

  1. There is no hot spot despite the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.
  2. World temperatures have been flat for the last 16 years despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century. Consensus is lacking.
  3. Extreme weather is not getting worse despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  4. Sea level rise (SLR) is not accelerating despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  5. Water vapor is not increasing in the atmosphere despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  6. US has been cooling for the last 15 years despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century. Kinda takes the GLOBAL outta GLOBAL warming don’t it?
  7. Himalayan glaciers expanding contrary to prediction and despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  8. The melting Arctic? We have heard it all before. We are still here and still waiting for the disastrous rise in sea levels despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  9. Antarctica is cooling despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.
  10. IPCC Global Climate Models (GCMs) can’t predict squat despite the rapid rise in CO2 atmospheric concentration since the turn of the last century.

Bonus: plants grow better, stronger, faster because of the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

The only voice that counts in science is that of Mother Nature and she is saying loud and clear that CO2 does not have much if anything to do with climate change. If you have extreme weather in times of lower CO2 concentration and bad storms in times of higher CO2 atmospheric concentration then isn't the correct conclusion that CO2 has nought to do with it?

People are learning that CO2 has nothing to do with the temperature or the climate.

Knowledge dispels ignorance and the scare vanishes. Will politicians back off?

“We’ve got to ride the global-warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.” ~ Former Senator Timothy Wirth

Don’t hold your breath for any admission of error. Truth in science was never the issue.
