Canada Misbehavin'

According to our friend over at Sunshine Hours Western Canada has been cooling for the last 15 years while the Eastern part of the country has been in a warming mode. Now meteorologists will have an explanation for this state of affairs that will incorporate the PDO, AMO, AO, NAO and the jet stream which embraces the knowledge we have gained about the factors controlling the climate in this part of the world.

But the schizophrenic nature of Canada’s climate is not behaving according to the predictions of the AGW crowd. The GLOBE is supposed to be suffering from acute anthropogenic GLOBAL warming and yet here we have Canada acting out of sorts with this worldly direction. And since CO2 is supposed to be the main driver of contemporary climate change the Canadian anomaly is rather hard to explain. And now we learn that Alaska has joined the rebellion.

The CO2 in Eastern Canada seems to be working fine. It is trapping the heat and raising the temperature as it is supposed to do. Some cynics have suggested this is from all the hot air coming out of Ottawa and Toronto. Snort!

But the CO2 in Western Canada appears to have something wrong with it or perhaps the temperature record needs to be adjusted. Does Environment Canada have a James Hansen-like mole trolling the datasets looking for stations to cool or warm?

Western Canada CO2 is not presenting as the heat trapping variety. It seems to be transparent to long wave infrared radiation (LWIR). Too bad they didn’t export it to the US during the summer to help out our neighbours to the South with their drought. Or perhaps they don’t have enough CO2 in the atmosphere in the prairies. Has it gone AWOL?

And yet we are told that CO2 is a well mixed gas in the air.

Oh, horrors! Could it be that CO2 has nothing to do with the temperature? Banish that thought.

The Canadian Arctic sea ice melt provides the data we sought. CO2 warms Arctic air which is not good for the polar bear. The summer heat is trapped, the sea ice it melts to a record low, so there!

The warm air from the north descends over the west to bring, a new dose of ghastly global warming.

But then comes fall and winter too. The heat doth dissipate, the sea ice refreezes at a record rate. Oh CAGW, what are we to do?

Down comes the overheated Arctic air dropping snow and temperatures for an early ski season.

Does that make sense? Can this be? CO2 has nought to do with climate, is that the reason?
