It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

The Maldives are a case study of the nonsense that is CAGW

Update on the Maldives. Some of the airports are now operational. New resorts to be built at the same time that the Maldives are playing the CAGW crybaby card at the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties.

The following was initially published on this blog on Oct. 16, 2011.

Supposedly the Maldives, islands in the Indian Ocean, are disappearing due to sea level rise and it is happening now. The culprit is, of course, the industrial world's burning of fossil fuels which is leading the planet toward CAGW. Oops, it has happened before during low CO2 times when there were no jet planes, SUVs, A/C and the first oil well had not been drilled(1859). In 1837 the Maldives were submerging in the Indian Ocean and again in 1865. Seems like a natural occurrence to me. And they are now using the guilt of industrialized nations in pursuit of a big payday, no doubt, to help them build their new airport.

The expose can be found here

More nonsense in the Maldives here. Now they are building floating golf courses.

The hypocrisy is mind boggling but is becoming standard fare in the farce that is CAGW.

See the open letter to the president of the Maldives from sea level expert  Nils-Axel Mörner here

Read about sea level observations in the Indian Ocean here

They want us to reduce our carbon footprint but go merrily on their way as if the issue is independent of their own behavior.

And yet the sea levels are not rising...see the expose above.....

We should save them because
