It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Life in the Arctic...

Some people try to draw attention to the 'unprecedented' warming allegedly taking place in the Arctic by attempting to reach the North Pole and show people in warmer climes how ice free it is. And yet they are often not successful. See here. Others who manage to succeed in reaching the North Pole are often not modeling the latest in swimwear fashion. This author suggests a reason why those who fail in their quest to reach the North Pole attempt the endeavor.

Perhaps attention seekers need to be informed that Arctic warming is not unprecedented. It has happened before.

Polar bears have been around in the Arctic for 100,000 years or more and have survived several periods during that time when temperatures were warmer than today.

If temperatures in the Arctic during the 1958 'heatwave' are tracking closely with the 2011 Arctic warming can we conclude that warming in the Arctic is not unprecedented and may be cyclical? The Arctic was also ice free in the 1920s

The Arctic is often touted as one of the fastest warming places on Earth. Really?

The Arctic was supposed to be ice-free in 2008. But instead we have 2011 coming in with the coldest start to the autumn season since 1996 and with the fastest autumn freeze on record.

The comedy of catastrophic climate change continues.....
