It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Delusion and Confusion in Bill Nye

What we see in others we ignore in ourselves or are we projecting what we see in ourselves onto others. It can get quite confusing. Take the example of Bill Nye, the alleged ‘Science Guy’.

“On Monday, Bill Nye, sitting alongside fellow climate alarmist Bernie Sanders, chided “extreme skeptics”, lecturing them “to think about what is called cognitive dissonance.” He asserted, “Instead of accepting that the climate is changing, deniers are denying the evidence and dismissing the authorities.”

The climate is supposed to be getting worse with the unabated addition of CO2 to our atmosphere. That is the CO2 centric theory of global warming that is defended by Bill and Bernie. And yet Mother Nature, who has the only opinion that counts, is not behaving in accordance with their expectations. The message of doom and gloom expected to be delivered by Mother Nature has failed to show up in the long term trends.

Bill and Bernie would do well to take their own advice and ‘think about what is called ‘cognitive dissonance’. Mother Nature is providing plenty of cognitive dissonance to those who are pushing the global warming agenda. Their agenda is not based in reality but in their own delusions about bad weather. Bill needs to consult with the ultimate authority not just mindlessly repeat alarmist talking points.

“To the deniers out there. I want you to think about what is called cognitive dissonance,” Nye said, referring to situations wherein people prefer to bury their head in the sand instead of facing reality. It’s up to environmentalists and everybody else to save skeptics from themselves, he added. “Instead of accepting that the climate is changing, deniers are denying the evidence and dismissing the authorities” simply because they don’t want to face a harsh reality, Nye said.
