It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Gore is Getting Gored

You can tell by the decibel level of his name calling.

Gore sees cowering where he should be seeing the realization of the MSM that they have been had. Thanks to the efforts of the blogging community some parts of the MSM are more willing to take note of evidence that do not support the AGW narrative.

Since Gore has no doubt about the truth of the AGW story he sees those who disagree as equivalent to people who still think the Earth is flat. He doesn’t really listen to objectors. He has isolated himself from their input by refusing to engage in debate. He resorts to the schoolyard tactic of name calling and is trying to associate skeptics of his message with every evil and stupid group of people he can think of. This denigration is to scare off any potential converts who might be swayed by the arguments of the skeptic. With good reason Gore is afraid of those arguments.

If Gore were to present ad hominems as valid arguments on a logic exam he should not be surprised at the ’X’ in the margin.

Gore likes to assert and probably believes that contemporary weather events are somehow unprecedented in the annals of weather history. He will mention Superstorm Sandy, the Russian heat wave, the floods in Pakistan and the US drought as if these events have never occurred before to such an extent. His memory is short.

Sandy was a category 1 hurricane when it made landfall around NYC. Its effects were exacerbated by the high tide and full moon. Imagine if the 1938 Long Island Express category 3 hurricane came roaring through the same area now. It would make Sandy look like a summer shower.

The heat waves in Russia and the US didn’t last. CO2 failed to demonstrate its heat trapping ability even while given an ample supply to work with. So how does CO2 ‘decide’ to trap summer heat to give us a warm winter? How do we turn on that switch? Or is there a hole in our CO2 blanket?

You won’t hear Al talk about the 7 hurricanes that made landfall in the US in 1886. This was when CO2 was well below the mythical 350 ppm tipping point. The 7 is a record that still stands even though we are told that CO2 has supercharged our atmosphere and put it ‘on’ steroids. It kind of makes you wonder what the atmosphere was ‘on’ back in the day when the record was set. There is so much CO2 in the air now from our driving around in SUVs and flying all over the planet that the Atlantic basin is seeing one of its lightest hurricane seasons ever. September is usually the month that has the most hurricanes during a season. I am sure the IPCC was disappointed that it didn’t have a big one as backdrop against which to introduce their recent(Sept 27) AR5 SPM. It certainly would have made people forget about the 15+ years that the average global temperatures haven’t risen.
So how does CO2 ‘decide’ to scare up hurricanes in any given year. We keep adding to the supply but hurricanes don’t always appear. What is the switching mechanism that makes CO2 turn on its hurricane making superpowers? We know the CO2 is there every year but sometimes it seems dormant. Perhaps there is a kryptonite glut in the air this season zapping the heat trapping ability of CO2.

Even as CO2 continues to increase unabated in the atmosphere temperatures have stopped rising, hurricanes and tornadoes trending down, expanding Antarctic ice extent setting records, despite the forecasts of Gore, Kerry and the Sierra Club of Canada for an ice free Arctic in summer 2013 the Arctic ice has announced that reports of its demise are greatly exaggerated,  people still building resorts, hotels and airports in the Maldives, ‘permanent’ drought one year followed by flooding the next in the same area, climate models that can’t stay on the runway selected by Gaia. Things just aren’t going according to the script Al has been peddling. No wonder the Goreacle has resorted to calling people names. Mother Nature herself is acting like an AGW denier and giving the consensus the finger. How rude!

Cue Donna Summers. It’s Al’s new theme song: Who do, who do you think you’re foolin’?

Adios. You are left to the apocalypse in your own minds. You seem happy there. I have met Pogo and he is not us.
