Sen. John Kerry: Flat Earther on the Climate

Sen. John Kerry has lamented that "you can't talk about climate now," Kerry said. "People just turn off. It's extraordinary."

He also said: "The irony is that we used to be a nation that valued science. We have become a nation that is now discarding science,"

John, let me bring you up to date. Nature is not part of the climate consensus that human induced CO2 is warming the planet in a catastrophic manner. Nature is not behaving in a manner that confirms the predictions of the Global Climate Models (GCMs) in use by the disgraced IPCC.

When reality does not agree with theory it is reality that is the final arbiter on truth. When scientists presented evidence that the earth was not flat there were those who refused to believe it. They became known as flat earthers. Those who continue to defend CAGW when the evidence contradicts that view are behaving like the flat earthers of bygone days. John, when you point a finger, remember that very often there are 3 coming right back at you.

Fact: CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is continuing to rise unabated. As it turns out this is fatal to the CAGW theory.

Why? Because temperatures are not continuing to rise as CAGW would predict. Temperatures have been decreasing since 2002 and have stopped increasing for at least the last 15 years. Temperatures in the continental US have been decreasing for the last 15 years. If CO2 drives atmospheric temperature then this should not happen.

Globally, winters should be getting warmer. Snow cover should be decreasing over time. Neither is the case.

Arctic sea ice should be melting in the summer and not reforming to the same extent in the winter which as we just saw is supposed to be getting warmer. The sea ice extent in the Arctic is back to where it was in 1979 when it was at its peak since satellites began taking note. This is a disconnect between theory and reality.

As the world warms we are told that ice caps will start melting and sea levels will rise and cause Cate Blanchett to purchase property on low lying Vanuatu and Al Gore to buy beachfront property on both coasts. Vanuatu advertises their getaways as a place to escape global warming. So why isn't sea level rising? 

As the world warms we are told that instances of severe weather will increase. This would explain the decline in severe tornadoes over the last century. Instances of severe hurricanes have also been on the decrease. Some people can't remember that fires were more prevalent in the past.

Can we draw the conclusion that as CO2 increases in the atmosphere severe weather decreases?

Yes, Sen. Kerry science is in decline among our elected representatives who are unaware that Nature decides if the world is warming catastrophically due to human induced CO2. Since the human theory of CAGW is not panning out  Nature's answer is no to CO2 as thermostat of the climate. We still do not know how to control the climate. Do you intend to remain a Flat Earther, Mr. Kerry?

Political ideology and religious belief can lead us into dark alleys where we cannot see the truth. Emotional attachment to ideals is a fine thing but often we need the cognitive dissonance presented by our peers to distil the truth.The mirror is before you Mr. Kerry. Please open your eyes.
