It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Scott Mandia embarrasses himself

In commenting on Michael Mann's hockey stick graph in The College Reporter we find:

“I agree with his work but what is far more important is that his paleoclimate research known as the “hockey stick” temperature reconstruction has been duplicated by many international scientists using different types of climate data and various data analysis techniques,” explained Scott Mandia, professor of Physical Sciences. “The fact that the planet is warmer now than at any time in the previous 2,000 years is very well-accepted in the climate science community. The science is solid.”

You would think that a scientist who wants to comment on climate science would be informed about the MWP and would not make such an ignorant statement and embarrass himself in such a public manner. This is inexcusable but in the realm of climate science it is not unusual as the politics of some climate scientists percolate to the top of their minds and out their mouths leaving their scientific acumen buried in history.

Mr Mandia would benefit from a trip here.

Dear Mr Mandia: “The fact that the planet is warmer now than at any time in the previous 2,000 years is very well-accepted in the climate science community." Really? How can you, as a scientist, embarrass yourself so publicly by showing your ignorance of the MWP? Astounding!

Perhaps you need to open your mind. You might learn something here.

CO2 was exhaled into the atmosphere during the composition of this post. No living thing was harmed. Some even liked it.

Sincerely,
Len

Fed by CO2 exhaled from you and me.
