It is no longer global warming because it isn't.

It is climate change because it does.

Men are never so likely to settle a question rightly as when they discuss it freely.

— Thomas B. Macaulay (1800-1859), Essay on Southey's Colloquies

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

What is NORMAL?

Gore\: 'Every night on the TV news now is like a nature hike through the Book of Revelation.'

Mr Gore: at what point in history would that NOT be the case?

Extreme weather existed long before humans came along and at concentrations of CO2 both higher AND lower than we currently experience(410 ppm) in our contemporary atmosphere.

Extreme weather does NOT care how much CO2 is in the air!

Floods,  drought, heat waves, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards and cold waves are FEATURES in our atmosphere. They are NOT bugs that can be eliminated with some anti-virus atmospheric program. They are NORMAL.

Even the IPCC knew this at one time:

“In sum, a strategy must recognise what is possible. In climate research and modelling, we should recognise that we are dealing with a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.”
IPCC Working Group I: The Scientific Basis, Third Assessment Report (TAR), Chapter 14 (final para., 14.2.2.2), p774. 2001

It is a telling quote which should have ended the IPCC investigation into CAGW.

Change is what the climate does

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The snow is falling somewhere and somewhere winds are light
And somewhere land is flooding, and somewhere there is drought
The climate she’s a changing is what the NORMAL’s all about

Symptoms of climate change:

Snow in the snow belt
Tornadoes in tornado alley
Tropical storms in the tropics
Forest fires in the forest
Drought in the desert
Floods on the floodplain
Heat in the summer
Cold in the winter
Rain during the rainy season

Because : SCIENCE

And falling leaves in autumn. NORMAL is scary for alarmists.

No wonder H.L. Mencken quipped

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed — and hence clamorous to be led to safety — by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.":

Blaming Climate Change for the Normal

And SCIENCE says:

Extreme weather does NOT care how much CO2 is in the air!
