No narration but some cheering can be heard!
Deemed an "advancing glacier," the ice is continually growing and
expanding outward, gradually occupying more and more territory.
Is this puzzling? In a warming world shouldn't all glaciers recede due to the increased CO2 in our atmosphere? How does the theory account for the expansion of certain glaciers? The Hubbard in Alaska does the same thing.
Perhaps an explanation is found here. No reference to Co2 needed.
Here is some supporting evidence for the lack of CO2 involvement in glacier movement. The Glaciar Jorge Montt in Chilean Patagonia has retreated 19.5 km during the 1898-2011 period. However, researchers have found that trees uncovered since 2003 were dated to 260 to 450 years before the present. This means that in those times the glacier was even further upvalley than it is now. Supposedly CO2 wwas lower then than now. Something else caused the warming back then.
